Each Palapa is a hands-on job in which we follow through from preconstruction to completion. For the structure of our Palapas, the poles and framework, we use only the highest quality Cedar for its longevity and durability. Our competitors use pine, which retains water and rots quickly. Our leaves are individually secured into place to maintain resistance from any windstorm or hurricane.

Gulf Coast Palapas constructs our Palapas with all cedar! Our competitors use pine, which does not come close to the quality of cedar. Pine is not naturally resistant to rot or insects, such as termites. Cedar naturally produces preservatives that make it one of the most decay and rot resistant of woods, as well as insect tolerant. As for humidity, large cracks in pine are common because of the higher moisture content. Cedar has a much lower moisture content, which has minimal cracking. There is no comparison!
